Announced in late 2016, this lens is part of Sigma's prestigious "Art" line, designed to offer outstanding optical performance for artistic expression.

  • Exceptional image quality: The lens is exceptionally sharp, even at its maximum aperture of f/1.4, with sharpness only improving slightly when stopped down. It is engineered with 14 elements in 12 groups, including two SLD (Special Low Dispersion) elements and one aspherical element, to minimize chromatic aberrations and distortions.
  • Beautiful bokeh: Its wide f/1.4 aperture and rounded 9-blade diaphragm produce a very shallow depth of field and an attractive, natural-looking background blur.
  • Durable build: The lens features a solid, high-quality construction using both metal and Thermally Stable Composite (TSC) materials. The brass bayonet mount is rugged and, on some versions, includes a rubber gasket for dust and splash resistance.
  • Fast and quiet autofocus: A Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) delivers fast and quiet autofocus performance. It also includes a full-time manual focus override, allowing you to fine-tune focus by turning the ring even in AF mode.
  • Compatibility: This version was made for Canon EF, Nikon F, and Sigma SA mounts. It is also compatible with the Sigma USB Dock for fine-tuning focus and updating firmware.
