 is a lightweight, high-performance telephoto zoom lens for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. It is the second-generation version of the lens and adds Tamron's Vibration Compensation (VC) image stabilization, a programmable Focus Set button, and support for Tamron's Lens Utility software.

  • Vibration Compensation (VC): Built-in optical image stabilization allows for more stable shooting in low light and at longer focal lengths.
  • VXD linear motor: The Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive (VXD) autofocus system provides fast, quiet, and precise focusing performance, including improved tracking for moving subjects.
  • Compact and lightweight: Despite adding image stabilization, the G2 model remains compact and weighs only 855g, making it significantly lighter and smaller than Sony's equivalent GM lens.
  • Weather-sealed construction: The lens has moisture-resistant seals and a fluorine-coated front element, providing protection against dust, fingerprints, and smudging in various weather conditions.
  • Tamron Lens Utility support: A USB-C port lets you connect the lens to a computer or smartphone to customize features, update firmware, and assign functions.
